Summer 2002

Engine Troubles

A 1987 13' Boston Whaler w/an 87 40 Horse Johson Outboard, acquired the boat in the Spring of 2002 with high hopes for the summer season. However, the year was riddled with engine problems and the boat has yet to see its full potential. My brother Ken and myself were able to wakeboard successfully for one day, but that was to be it for the year. To be continued...

Summer 2003

Refinished Mahoghany On the Hudson

2003 represented much more of the year for which I'd been waiting and hoping. After $1400 in engine repairs that didn't appear to do too much, Mark found the problem early in the year: a kinked gas line to one of the carbs. With a little help and a TON of advice from Kenny, I refinished most of the mohoghany on the boat. Coupled with the new forward hatch made by Kenny, the boat was looking pretty nice. I received compliments on it (and a few offers to buy it) throughout the summer.
Aside from going out on the Hudson, we experienced Greenwood Lake several times, which was a welcome change. Wakeboarding was great this year, it's quite possible that I enjoy wakeboarding more than snowboarding. I'll be getting a wet-suit to prolong next season as much as possible.
